Lauren Samples

Lauren Samples is a dynamic force in the world of true crime, shaped by her upbringing in Florida—a state notorious for its eccentricities and captivating stories. From an early age, Lauren developed a deep fascination with the darker aspects of humanity, driven by an insatiable curiosity about the criminal justice system and the law. Her journey began with a commitment to service as a police officer in the US Navy, where she honed her understanding of law enforcement and its complexities. This foundational experience fueled her pursuit of a degree in legal studies from Hodges University in Naples, Florida, solidifying her dedication to justice.

After spending several years in the criminal law field, Lauren and her husband, Ken, launched their first true crime podcast in 2018, "Paradise After Dark: Missing & Unsolved," where she utilizes her storytelling skills to explore cases often relegated to the shadows. Her ability to weave intricate narratives not only captivates listeners but also serves a greater purpose—advocating for the voiceless victims whose stories remain unheard. This podcast has blossomed into a vital platform for change, amplifying the issues surrounding unresolved cases and fostering a sense of community among those impacted by crime.

In 2023, Lauren took her advocacy a step further by founding The Florida Themis Project, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting the families of unsolved crime victims and missing individuals. Through this initiative, she extends her reach and impact, empowering those who have suffered to find their voices in the struggle for justice. With her unique combination of expertise, empathy, and unyielding determination, Lauren Samples is not only addressing critical issues within the true crime arena but is also committed to making a lasting difference for victims and their families. Her journey is far from over, and her influence is sure to grow as she continues to champion those who have been silenced.
