Monique Patterson is a journalist with more than 15 years experience. She has covered a range of stories which have had an emotional impact on her, but there is one that she will never forget - for more reasons than one. Monique was the editor of The Irrigator newspaper in Leeton when school teacher Stephanie Scott was reported missing and was later found murdered. Her death sent shockwaves through the tight-knit community and had a profound impact on Monique. She has a keen interest in true crime and wanted to write this book for two reasons - to remind people that evil can lurk in even the most hidden corners of the earth and to honour Stephanie Scott. Monique lives on the coast in Victoria in Australia with her partner Bill and sons Cael, 8, and Jaxon, who was born in October 2018.
